The economic table is the official Washington State chart used to determine the basic child support obligation per child. It lists combined monthly net incomes from $2,200 to $50,000 against family size from 1 to 5 children. Updated January 1 2026 under RCW 26.19.020.
RCW 26.19.020 establishes the economic table as the child support table for the basic support obligation. The table is presumptive for combined monthly net incomes up to $50,000. It is updated periodically and the 2026 version is effective January 1 2026.
Step 1: Calculate combined monthly net income
Step 2: Round to nearest $100 (round up if last 2 digits are 50+, round down if 49 or less)
Step 3: Find the matching row in the table
Step 4: Find the column for number of children (One Child / Two Children / Three Children / Four Children / Five Children)
Step 5: The circled value = per child amount
Step 6: Multiply by number of children = Total Basic Obligation
The table value determines the size of the entire support calculation. All percentages, SSR checks, and expense shares are applied to this base figure. A $100 difference in combined income can change the table value and therefore the final transfer payment.
